27 Club

The 27 Club is cult grouping of artists, usually musicians, who died prematurely at the age of 27.

While it is sometimes considered morbid, I like to look at the group of artists as brilliant starts who burnt through their life too quickly in exchange for leaving behind a musical legency that will live on forever.

27 Club Members

This is a set of 4 notebooks featuring Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, and Amy Winehouse. Music is such a big influence on a lot of peoples lives, and these four musicians were chosen for the pivotal role they played across my own life.

To bring the artists visually to life I contacted the best pen line artist I know of, Sean Jun.

Illustrations for the 27 Club

I've been a fan of Sean Jun, @uniquelab on Instagram, for a while now and he has done already done a series of charcoal movie sketches using our own Kraft Notebooks.

I reached out to Sean to be the illustrator for this set and to my absolute joy he accepted. You can see the in video below just how talented Sean is, in this case he is using Charcoal on our own Plain Kraft Notebook, however with the 27 club set he'll be using ink.
